Still FREE while Going paid with an early Artists Sunday special
I’ve been watching the goldfinch collect on my sunflowers despite the continual decay of their stalks and the weight of their spent flower heads bringing them closer to the ground. It’s a gentle reminder of the changes that come as winter starts to reach out its hand to welcome us to a new year.
It also reminds me to rethink priorities and possibilities.
As I reflect on the season, I also reflect on my Artist Notes here, where I’ve concluded I need to consider adding a subscription fee to the notes I offer without adding any burdens to those who want to keep reading. Therefore, after just over three years of freely writing and a year of trying to keep “An Artist’s Notes” on a regular schedule while maintaining a list of resources gathered in the process (and keeping my art studio active for my source of income), I have realized that I do not have the time and energy to continue writing here as an only-free subscription. I appreciate everyone who follows and subscribes to my notes here on Substack. I sincerely hope you will continue to do so (either free or paid). I do not want to deny access to anyone.
Therefore, ALL my posts will continue to be free, but if you can afford the $5/month subscription (or $30/year), it would enable me to offer more in-depth notes and resources for everyone on a more regular schedule.
Thank you for your support, consideration, and understanding! I love sharing what I do, and I hope you find it worthwhile to read my artist notes too. And not to worry - even if I have no takers for the paid subscriptions, I will find a way to continue doing what I love! (In fact - watch for other subscription opportunities to come soon with a collage-centric Substack in the works.)
