In the Garden
Oops - the weekend got away from me. What started as “I need to mow the lawn” turned into “The bird feeding area needs an upgrade.” Six bags of rocks, two bags of mulch, sand, and 40 or so pavers later… my birds are now enjoying their new luxury accommodations with a clean water bath and refilled feeders.
But, alas, I did not finish what I had started writing this week.
So, instead, I hope you enjoy a garden painting from a few years ago, “Sweet Memories of Summer”. It’s one of my favorites in that it portrays my interaction with a sweet little hummingbird who wanted me to shower him with the water from my hose. So I did. And he took a little bath on a sunflower leaf.
My new garden isn’t nearly as mature as this one was. (We moved to a new house last summer.) But, I once again have sunflowers and many happy hummingbirds coming to say “hi”.
